Katie Sarna, LPC
Katie is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan. Throughout her late teens, twenties, and thirties, she has mentored middle and high school students, along with both young and older adults. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Oakland University in Spanish K-12 Education with a minor in sociology, and several years later, her Master of Arts degree in both Mental Health and School Counseling.
She completed her counseling internship at Derby Middle School in Birmingham, MI where she was highly regarded and went on to work for the next seven years. While working at the school, she used Brief Solution Focused Therapy and a lot of compassion to help students reach their goals and rise to their highest potential.
Katie collaborated with teachers, staff, parents, and outside mental health professionals to provide additional support to students who needed it.
Recently married and growing her family, Katie joined Radiate Counseling and treats adolescents and adults for a variety of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, social anxiety, and suicidal ideation.
She is equipped especially for supporting those dealing with grief and loss, life adjustments, defining goals and relationships, high stress levels, rejection, emotional abandonment, and boundary setting. Katie’s goal is to provide a nonjudgmental and supportive environment for every client to help them reach their goals and live their life to the fullest.
Katie has a special sensitivity to work with clients to help facilitate healing to broken hearts, clarity to confusion, hope to those who feel they can’t go on, and strength to insecurities.
In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and their families, reading, baking, dancing, watching Detroit Red Wings and Tigers, and college football, winter and water sports, getting outdoors in nature (especially by creeks, lakes, and oceans) and is grateful to know the love and healing power of Christ.
