Licensed Professional Counselor & Clinical Supervisor
Georgiana is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan with a strong clinical foundation, wide-ranging experience in multiple therapeutic settings, and a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s most difficult seasons. She is also a trained clinical supervisor for Limited Licensed Counselors in Michigan, bringing insight, warmth, and mentorship to developing clinicians.
Education & Clinical Training
Georgiana earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Michigan State University, where her passion for understanding the human experience took root. She went on to earn her Master’s in Counseling from Oakland University, gaining rigorous academic and hands-on training in both individual and group therapy.
Her undergraduate internship placed her at the 30th Circuit Court (Ingham County) as a Juvenile Court Officer, offering early insight into the intersection of mental health and the justice system. She completed her graduate internship with Perspectives of Troy, a comprehensive outpatient counseling center, and later accepted a full-time role with New Oakland Child, Adolescent and Family Center as a FACE to FACE Clinical Therapist and Discharge Manager. There, she gained extensive experience working with high-acuity youth and families.
Professional Experience
Georgiana has worked in a wide range of clinical environments, including inpatient units, partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), outpatient clinics, and court systems. She returned to Perspectives of Troy following her time at New Oakland and remained there for six years, serving in roles such as Clinical Therapist, Site Leader, and Peer Utilization Review Committee Member. She also developed and facilitated self-esteem workshops for girls ages 10–17, as well as participating in community speaking engagements on mental health topics.

Her therapy is rooted in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)-informed approaches. She also incorporates Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed techniques. For clients who request it, she provides faith-integrated counseling from a Christian perspective.
Above all, Georgiana creates a nonjudgmental, compassionate environment where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. She believes in helping individuals build self-awareness, strengthen resilience, and move from surviving to thriving.
Supervision & Clinical Mentorship
In addition to her therapeutic work, Georgiana is a state-certified clinical supervisor, providing training and mentorship to emerging clinicians. She finds great fulfillment in helping new counselors develop confidence and clinical competence as they enter the field.
Personal Life
Outside of work, Georgiana enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, singing in choir, attending church, and exploring the world through long walks, whether on the beach, in the woods, or downtown. She loves trying new food, creating, reading, and pursuing her passion for lifelong learning. Curious and creative by nature, she constantly seeks ways to grow personally and professionally.
