Depression Treatment in Michigan
Welcome to Radiate Counseling Center: Your safe place to Heal and Thrive!
Depression (also known as major depression, major depressive disorder, or clinical depression) is a common but serious mood disorder. It causes severe symptoms that affect how a person feels, thinks, and handles daily activities, such as sleeping, eating, or working (NIMH).
There are different types of depression, some of which develop due to specific circumstances, like a loss of a job, breakup of a relationship, or prolonged grief over a loved one’s death. Other types of depression can be more chronic causing deep suffering for many years.
Depression diagnosed early enough andwith therapeutic intervention is known to be the best defense in treating depression. However, some untreated depressions are known to become a chronic state of being and the longer treatment is delayed the more difficult for many to return to a happy and peaceful state of well-being.
Adolescent and teen aged individuals experience depression frequently with the onset of other mental health conditions. Depression cannot be considered “just a passing phase” to be set aside to see if the depressed mental state is a temporary event. This season of life is particularly challenging to many as the developmental part of the brain is developing at such a rapid pace. Moving from childhood through adolescence to young adulthood is known to be the time when many mental disorders have onset and must not go unattended to or disregarded. The brain is in its incredible growth stages during these years of life and maintaining mental stability is essential for lifelong well-being.
The professional staff of Radiate Counseling have well over a combined century of experience treating depression and the difficulties it brings to a person’s life.
